The Confucius Institute/Classroom is named after Confucius (551-478 B.C.), whose philosophy and teaching have influenced China and other East Asian countries for over 2500 years. The Confucius Classroom at Johnson University was established with the support of Hanban in Beijing, China, and Zhengzhou No. 47 Middle and High School in 2010. The mission is to enhance the learning of Chinese language and foster multicultural awareness and intercultural understanding in the community by offering Chinese language and cultural classes, holding events and activities, and providing services to the local community.
