2012 Theme Focuses on Stories

Academic-Theme-Final.jpg“Let the Redeemed of the Lord Tell Their Story,” the student theme taken from Psalm 107, is resonating among Johnson students. When our redemption stories are told, God receives glory and His kingdom is extended. This semester’s chapel speakers are dynamic, motivating speakers who have great stories to tell.

Chapel speakers such as Marques Evans, a former basketball player and current church planter in Cleveland, Ohio, and Tommy Oaks, master story-teller and evangelist, have shared their testimonies and challenged the students to not only tell the Gospel story well, but to live it well. Dean of the Chapel Bill Wolf said, “We have discussed the story of the Lord’s Redeemed in the Old Testament and their exodus from Egypt. Ron Wheeler, professor of English, helped our study tremendously through a series of videos which explain various elements of story.”

More stories will be added as the semester continues. Listen to past chapel sermons online.
