New students and students transferring from other institutions who are seeking an undergraduate degree must submit the following:
- A completed Application Form along with the $35 application fee.
- A high school transcript, home school transcript, or GED.
- Applicants from high schools or home schools that are not state approved who score less than 18 on the ACT(or its SAT equivalent) must earn a GED and score 2,250 (2013 and before) or 600 (2014 and beyond) or above with no score lower than 410 on any of the five tests (2013 and before) or 150 on any of the four tests (2014 and beyond).
- GED scores before 2014 - Applicants without high school diplomas must score 2,250 or above with no score lower than 410 on any of the five tests.
- GED scores after 2014 - Applicants without high school diplomas must score 600 or above with no score lower than 150 on any of the four tests.
- ACT or SAT or CLT scores.
- If your tests scores are included on your high school transcript, you do not need to send them again.
- Not required of applicants over age 24 who have not already taken one of the tests. A test score may be required based on information in the application process.
- Applicants for the teacher education programs must have a minimum score of 21 on the ACT or an SAT score of 1060 (1450 on the old SAT).
- Transfer students must include all college transcripts.

Adults seeking to complete their college degree in the Adult Evening Degree program are generally age 25 or older and submit the following:
- Application and $35 application fee.
- Official high school transcript or GED
- Official transcripts from all institutions of higher learning previously attended.
- GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Transcripts from military service and a copy of the DD214 (if applicable)

Adult students who desire to complete a degree in either Ministry Leadership or Pastoral Care & Counseling Ministry can transfer in 37 Arts and Sciences credit hours and 20 elective credit hours. Adult students who desire to complete a degree in Nonprofit & Business Administration can transfer in 40 Arts and Sciences credit hours and 14 elective credit hours.

Applicants from countries outside the United States and its territories seeking an undergraduate degree must submit the following:

AFTER ACCEPTANCE:
- Affidavit of Financial Support Form
- A $1,500 deposit. With the approval of the director of financial aid, a maximum of $125 of this deposit can be used for books or supplies each term beginning the third term. Any unused portion will be returned to the one who paid it when the student terminates his/her enrollment and pays his/her account.
- I-20 Application
The student is responsible for I-20 shipping fees by paying through eShipGlobal.
International students must also meet the requirements for acceptance for foreign (nonimmigrant) students by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (USINS). Since this process is much more lengthy than for traditional students, it is recommended that international students begin the application process as early as possible, giving at least six months prior to the beginning of the term.
The Government of the United States requires proof of financial support before accepting any student from outside the U.S. Johnson University is under the authority of the United States Government to have verification of support before it can issue the I-20 form to foreign students. This I-20 form is needed to enter the U.S. and to obtain a foreign student visa.

The website and combined report contain information regarding campus security and personal safety, including topics such as crime prevention, fire safety, authority of security personnel, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures, and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Johnson University Tennessee, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
