Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Johnson University Online MBA (Master of Business Administration) is a classical business program that prepares professionals for success in entrepreneurship, big business, social enterprise, and nonprofit settings. The program’s faith-based curriculum organically integrates social responsibility and ethics in every course and discipline – from finance and accounting to marketing and organizational development – in order to develop ethically well-rounded business professionals who approach decision-making with unwavering integrity.

Entirely online and highly interactive, the program unites students and faculty from around the world with varying cultural and vocational perspectives and a shared Christian worldview.

The Johnson University Online MBA is affordable and can be completed in 12–24 months or longer, depending on the student’s choice of pace. The Online MBA offers three concentrations – Business Administration, Leadership, or Nonprofit Management – each of which provides hands-on experiential learning that prepares students for meaningful lifelong impact on the world.


The Online MBA is designed for working adults. Most students take one class at a time for 24 months, but students may opt to take two courses at a time in order to complete the program in 12 months. Each 3-credit-hour course is seven weeks in duration, and there are six sessions of courses per year. New cohorts begin biannually in January and August.


The classic business core taken by all students includes:

  • Leadership, in which students examine theories of leadership and applications of ethical leadership in organizations.
  • Advanced Business Analytics, which teaches students how to analyze data to optimize decision-making.
  • Marketing Management, in which students explore strategies for identifying target markets and the best methods for reaching them.
  • Accounting for Strategic Decision Making, which provides tools and skills that enable leaders to make better operating, investing, and financing decisions.
  • Business Law, which examines legal and ethical issues related to business, reinforcing an ethical and moral framework for decision-making and management.
  • Advanced Corporate Finance, which helps students interpret financial statements and evaluate ratios, asset utilization, and working capital models.
  • Managerial Economics, which covers micro and macro economic forces in organizations and the economy at large, including market functions, pricing, and transactions.
  • The Capstone Project includes the collaborative development of an actionable business plan or thesis for a real organization, showcasing students’ abilities to research, synthesize, analyze, and communicate information at a graduate level while also benefitting organizations in need of strategic counsel.

Concentration Curriculum

The Business Administration concentration includes additional courses in Strategic Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, International Business, and Project Design Management.

The Leadership concentration includes additional courses in Leadership Communication, Leadership and Team Building, Organizational Leadership, and Project Design Management.

The Nonprofit Management concentration includes the following additional courses: Nonprofit Sector, Nonprofit Law, Nonprofit Resource Development, and Project Design Management.
