Ministry Leadership (BA/BS)
Adult students have great potential to lead churches and other Christian ministries for the advancement of Christ’s kingdom. The Ministry Leadership Major equips such students with sound training in Bible, theology, and leadership.
Students will benefit from Johnson’s accreditation, affordable tuition, military-friendly flexibility, and an experienced and engaged faculty passionate about each student’s success.
The Ministry Leadership Internship requirement (3 credit hours) allows students to implement their coursework in a real-world setting. As part of this requirement, students will find a field mentor in their own community and serve with/under the mentor for sixteen weeks (about 7-8 hours per week). Students accomplish various ministry tasks, observe ministry situations, and reflect on their experiences to further develop the skills they need for ministry. for more information on internship guidelines.
When students complete this program, they will be able to do the following:
Model the spiritual maturity of a Christ-like servant-leader necessary for kingdom work.
Prepare churches and other ministries for kingdom mission through the teaching and preaching of the Scriptures with depth and sensitivity to people’s needs.
Lead churches and Christian ministries through pastoral care, ministry development, leadership amid change and conflict, and guidance in various programs of ministry.
