At Johnson University Florida, students will gain much more than an affordable Christian education. The missional focus and close-knit family environment will equip students with a sense of responsibility for their own spiritual growth and the skills to lead others in spiritual formation.
Statement of Faith
“Strong in the Scriptures,” the motto of Johnson University Florida, remains true today. The essence of Johnson University’s beliefs is the old saying “no creed but Christ,” and the University has no intention of further dividing His church. Every trustee, administrator, and professor holds to the Johnson Statement of Faith.
Chapel and Discipleship Groups
Weekly chapel services offer students an opportunity for worship, service, prayer, community, and spiritual growth. In addition to JUFL faculty and alumni, chapel speakers include well known pastors, missionaries, and teachers. Students also have leadership opportunities, often engaging in teaching and worship.
D Groups (Discipleship Groups) are another vital aspect of spiritual life at JUFL. D Groups meet weekly and provide students with a level of community and accountability found only in a small group experience. Students sign up for D Groups at the beginning of each term.
Since the goal of Johnson University Florida is to prepare students for a lifetime of Christian service, service is an important part of the JUFL experience. Students are required to participate in and report on a minimum of 15 hours of Christian service each term. The JUFL Student Life Handbook details the criteria for Christian service.
JUFL students are expected to be active in a local church of their choosing. Central Florida is home to a number of great churches, so students will have no problem finding one where they can worship and serve. Johnson University Florida is happy to recommend:
First Christian Church of Kissimmee
Northeast Christian Church
Poinciana Christian Church
