Children's Ministry with a Preschool/Daycare Director Emphasis
For the church to minister effectively to this and future generations, it must effectively reach and disciple children. The Children’s Ministry Major with Preschool/Daycare Director Emphasis equips students to lead and minister to children and their families both in congregational and in preschool/daycare settings. Graduates may pursue career paths such as church-based children’s ministry, para-church ministry that reaches children, preschool education, daycare centers, or other careers that involving nurturing, teaching, and ministering to children.
Students will benefit from Johnson’s accreditation, affordable tuition, and an experienced and engaged faculty passionate about each student’s success. Both the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree coursework combine a Bible & Theology Core and an Arts & Sciences Core. Bachelor of Arts degrees usually include 12 or more credits of foreign language study, while Bachelor of Science degrees include additional Natural Science (like Biology and Science Concepts) and Social and Behavioral Science courses (like Psychology and Economics). Students will also have the opportunity to test and apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world settings through professional internships.
When students complete this program, they will be able to do the following:
Model the maturity of a Christ-like servant-leader necessary for kingdom work.
Demonstrate biblically-based and culturally-relevant strategies to educate and minister to children.
Exhibit a thoughtful and self-aware model of leadership in order to equip others for effective kingdom mission service.
