Johnson University’s online management system, Sakai, functions as the central hub for all online coursework. Sakai provides a place where learning is facilitated and supported and where faculty engage and encourage students. Sakai’s various tools promote communication, collaboration, and community building for the purpose of learning. These tools include discussion forums, chat functionality, assignment/document distribution and collection, video conferencing, and assessment. In addition to these features, Sakai is designed to be a collaborative tool for research and group projects.
