Student Life
Student Life

“Family” is the word most often used to describe Johnson University. We are one of the oldest Christian colleges in United States, and our legacy of success has been built on the fact that students find a warm, caring educational community with a common commitment to Jesus Christ and a life of serving Him.

Spiritual Life
Bringing glory to God is at the heart of everything we do at Johnson. Students, faculty, and staff come together regularly to celebrate His Word through ministry, missions, chapel services, retreats, study groups, community service, special prayer services, fellowship activities, and other events.

Campus Activities
Learning, growing, and sharing your commitment to Christ extends far beyond classrooms and labs at Johnson. Groups such as the Harvesters, Student Council, and Timothy Club, among others, empower students to find their voice and develop leadership skills. Annual events such as the Late Night Breakfast and the Miller-Scott Banquet help foster the special bonds and relationships that have always characterized Johnson.

Off-Campus Fun
Johnson’s location less than 12 miles from Knoxville, Tennessee, provides endless opportunities for fun. Students are just minutes from the culture, shopping, dining, art, theatre, and professional sports offered by the dynamic city of Knoxville. Students take advantage of hiking, biking, rafting, camping, and spelunking less than an hour away in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There’s non-stop entertainment available in the local resort towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Campus Living
As a student at Johnson you will enjoy a quality of life characterized by comfort, safety, and a feeling of “home” that may surprise you. The campus features two outstanding residence halls—one for males and one for females—that emphasize modern amenities and private baths in every room. And there are a variety of housing options available for married and non-traditional students, such as apartments, townhouses, and duplexes.

Athletics
Whether it’s intercollegiate action or an intramural game, athletics at Johnson bring the entire campus community together in mind, body, spirit, and fun. Johnson is a proud member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), with five intercollegiate varsity programs and more than a half-dozen intramural sports.
