Detour Directions! Henley Street Bridge closed

The Henley Street Bridge is officially closed for repairs and will remain so until mid 2013.  The following directions reflect your detour options.  

From the North:
Go toward downtown Knoxville on I-275 South and merge on to I-40 East. Take first exit, 388A, James White Parkway(You will be following the 441 Detour) and follow the James White Parkway to the end.  Turn right on to Moody Avenue.  At the second stop light turn left on to Chapman Highway approximately 6 miles. Turn left at stop light on to Hendron Chapel Road 5 miles to Johnson.

From the West and South (Via I-40/75):
Go toward downtown Knoxville on I-40 East. Take first exit, 388A, James White Parkway (You will be following the 441 Detour) and follow the James White Parkway to the end. Turn right on Moody Avenue.  At the second stop light turn left on Chapman Highway approximately 6 miles. Turn left at stop light on to Hendron Chapel Road 5 miles to Johnson.

Other Directions

Alternate from West and South:
On the west/south side of Knoxville take I-140 (Pellissippi Pkwy.) East toward Maryville 10.8 miles to US 129. Go north on US 129 (Alcoa Hwy) 4 miles to US 168 (Governor John Sevier Highway). Turn right (east) on TN 168 approximately 8.5 miles to French Rd. Turn right on French Rd and follow the signs to Johnson University.

From McGhee Tyson Airport:
Take US 129 North toward Knoxville 5.5 miles to US 168 (Governor John Sevier Highway). Turn right (east) on TN 168 8.5 miles to French Rd. Turn right on French Rd and follow the signs to Johnson University.

From the Southeast:
(Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge) Follow US 441 North from Sevierville toward Knoxville. At the fourth traffic light (approximately 15 miles after leaving Sevierville) turn right on Hendron Chapel Road 5 miles to Johnson.

From the East:
From I-40 east of Knoxville, take exit 398 (Strawberry Plains Pike) and follow signs to Johnson. You will make a total of 5 left turns in approximately 12 miles.
