About
About Johnson University

Since 1893 Johnson University has provided a quality, affordable Christian education to those who desire to impact the world in the name of Christ. Founded as a school to train preachers, Johnson has grown in both size and scope. Now, an average of 600 students are living on campus each year preparing for careers within and beyond the walls of the church… careers of service to Christ and others.

Due to its proximity to the Smoky Mountains, students have the opportunity to take in the glory of creation while serving alongside ministries and other nonprofit organizations in urban Knoxville and the more rural surrounding counties. Service is paramount to the student experience at Johnson; spiritual development is at the core of each student’s education. Most full-time faculty members live on campus, enhancing the sense of community and commitment that strengthens the educational experience at Johnson.

Future students are encouraged to contact us and schedule a campus visit to learn more about Johnson’s campus and programs.
